South Wayne PorchFest Is Back!

A Great Day of Free Music Played On The Porches of Wayne - 51 Musical Acts on 35 Porches - Saturday, September 10th - 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The streets of South Wayne, PA will once again be “alive with the sound of all kinds of music” on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at the annual South Wayne PorchFest. Now in its fifth year, South Wayne PorchFest continues to expand its offerings, with 51 varied musical acts performing on porches throughout six residential blocks. Windermere Ave, St. Davids Rd. and Midland Ave. will be closed to motor vehicles, allowing visitors to amble freely from porch to porch.

Do you like Rock? Folk? Jazz? Bluegrass? Soul? How about Americana, Zydeco, R & B, A Capella or Country? You’ll find all of those and much more at the 2022 South Wayne PorchFest. Diverse musical acts will showcase original compositions, as well as spot-on covers. There will be dancing in the streets with music provided by rock bands to easy-listening jazz to foot-stomping bluegrass and as always the much-beloved sing-a-longs for adults and children.

The organizers excited for this year’s South Wayne PorchFest. The variety of acts they’ve scheduled encompasses everything from solo acoustic to large rock bands. They even have Appalachian clog dancers. PorchFest has some young musicians who you will definitely be able to say, "I saw them when... ” There is a great deal interest from the music community, so much in fact, that PorchFest has to put acts on the waitlist -- but those acts get first dibs next year.

“South Wayne PorchFest is such a wonderful way to bring the community together through the common bond of music. There are so many different artists and styles represented, from blue grass to a cappella to rock -- really something for everyone...There’s an exciting energy that PorchFest gives to the community each year, and we look forward to being a part of it again!” says Kristen Conrad, singer/keyboardist of 80’s rock cover band, Basic Cable.

South Wayne PorchFest has always allowed people to bring their own picnics, but believe that many will appreciate the convenience of having a variety of food options for purchase at the festival. Carla’s Pizzeria will be offering sandwiches, hot dogs, and tomato pie. The local schools will be selling lots of delicious baked goods and snacks.
