Tax Hike Grows Nearer As RTSD Approves Proposed Budget: Report

Residents could see a 3.43 percent tax increase should the board formally adopt the budget.

RADNOR,PA – The Radnor Township School District reportedly approved the proposed final budget for the 2017-2018 school year at its meeting Tuesday, meaning township residents are more likely to see a tax increase.

The proposed $96.6 million budget contains a tax hike of 3.43 percent, which is more than the Act 1 index allows. However, the district applied for Act 1 exceptions from the state which were approved.

The increase translates to a .7868 millage rate increase. This means someone with a home valued at $400,000 will have a $314.72 tax bill.
