Taxpayers Paying $30K For Delco State Rep's Bad Driving: Report
Delco State Rep. Margo Davidson has been in three crashes with state-issued vehicles in three years. One with a suspended license.

State Representative in Delaware County has been using taxpayer funds to cover vehicle crash settlements that happened while she was driving state-issued vehicles on a suspended license, according to a report by The Philadelphia Inquirer.
The Inquirer reports State Rep. Margo Davidson (D-5th District) has exceeded more than $30,000 in taxpayer funds used to cover settlements for three crashes in two state vehicles that occurred over three years.
Davidson, who was elected in 2010 and lost the primary this year to Mary Gay Scanlon in PA's 5th Congressional District, got into her first crash in 2015 in Lansdowne when she rear-ended another vehicle.

The publication reports the couple who she rear ended sued for more than $12,000 and won.
Then, she was allegedly involved in a rear-end, hit-and-run crash in January this year on Interstate 476, court records show. She was driving without a license and pleaded guilty to that charge, as well as failing to stop and give aid following an accident, according to court records.

Less than a month later, she was involved in another crash on 476 while still unlicensed on Feb. 2, court record show. The bill for that crash was $10,374, the Inquirer reported.
The outlet goes on to chronicle more taxpayer-footed bills and fines related to Davidson's blemished driving record: $1,575 paid to repair a vehicle door she damaged; $7,207 paid to repair a state-owned vehicle that was stolen and crashed while she possessed it; a $210 fine for speeding in Virginia; $149.50 in fines from the January crash; a $221 fine for failing to yield to emergency vehicles.
"Accidents unfortunately happen from time to time when people drive," she told Philly.com.
Patch has reached out to Davidson's office for comment and will update this story when we hear back.
