The remnants of Tropical Storm Fred are forecast to pass near Radnor on Wednesday into Thursday.

  • The primary hazard is heavy rain. The highest risk for heavy rain is over eastern Pennsylvania and northern New Jersey, with lesser amounts towards the coast. There is some potential for flash flooding in the areas of heavier rainfall, though it currently looks more localized as opposed to widespread threat. See the graphic for more.
  • There is low concern about damaging winds with this system. Its winds will be well below tropical storm force when it affects us.
  • On Wednesday and Wednesday night, there is a low risk for an isolated tornado over most of the area. This is common almost any time a tropical system or its remnants affect the region and would be a highly localized occurrence.
