Villanova College Of Nursing Holding Heroin Epidemic Discussion Thursday Night

Villanova University College Of Nursing is holding a discussion on the heroin crisis Thursday night and the public is invited to attend the free informational session. V
The discussion begins at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26 in the Driscoll Hall Auditorium on Villanova's campus.
Attendees will hear about the drug epidemic from a pharmacist, law enforcement officer, addiction counselor, and a parent affected by addiction.

"Pennsylvania’s drug overdose deaths increased by 23 percent last year according to the Drug Enforcement Agency," the university said. "Despite actions such as new prescribing guidelines for addictive medications and the availability of naloxone to reverse overdose, a 5 percent rise in deaths involving the opioid heroin has occurred. Join our expert panelists to learn more about the complete picture and the effect of this drug on health care and society."
The event is free and registration is not required.
