Villanova Law Student Wins Mock Trial Competition
A Villanova law student and a Drexel law student recently won the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office 19th Mock Trial Competition.

VILLANOVA, PA — The Montgomery County District Attorney's Office announced winners of its 19th Annual Summer Intern Mock Trial Competition. It was a Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law student and her partner from Drexel University who took the top honors.
Villanova student Karla Pisarcik and Drexel University Thomas L. Kline School of Law student Kimberly Kaelin were the victors in the annual competition.
Eleven second-year law students competed in a week-long competition that ended Aug. 9 in the Montgomery County Courthouse.

Pisarcik and Kaelin's arguments in a fake murder trial resulted in them taking the top honors.
Jonathan Parrish of Temple University Beasley School of Law and Robert Waeltz from Drexel finished second in the competition.

The mock trial contained legal hurdles and factual challenges to create a more difficult case for the competitors.
Other interns acted as witnesses and detectives in the trial and county officials, including District Attorney Kevin Steele, served as the jury and judge.
