Villanova president Fr. Peter Donohue released a statement on the incident:
Two weeks ago, I shared my thoughts on the need for Villanova to practice what we preach. As I stated in the message, we need to embrace the challenge of creating an authentic community for all our members. Everyone brings value to Villanova and everyone must contribute to the process. Each community member must be both respectful and respected.
Over the past few days, I have been deeply disturbed by several reports of members of our community using our nation’s political process as a justification for behaviors and language aimed to intimidate or humiliate other people. This type of behavior is not acceptable and will not be tolerated at Villanova.
Donohue said anyone who experiences or witnesses incidents similar to this should report it by contacting Villanova’s Public Safety at (610) 519-4444, calling the local police if it occurs off-campus, or filing a complaint anonymously with Ethics Point.
Despite Radnor Police ceasing the investigation, the Times reports the university is still investigating the incident.
