Villanova Students Compete In Day-Long Think Tank Competition
Students from Villanova and Drexel universities worked to solve real-world problems in the 24-hour competition.

Students from Villanova University participated in a 24-hour think tank competition where they were tasked with solving real-world problems related to energy, water, and environmental issues, the university said.
Of the 14 Villanova students who participated, four earned prizes for their work at the competition.
Michael Caggiano of College of Engineering (COE) and his team were awarded a $2,000 first place prize for their work on Warren PSI, while Agnes Cho of College of Nursing , Peter Nelson of the COE, and Huige Ouyang of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences received a second place prize of $1,000 for their work with Aqua America, according to the university.

The students worked with Drexel University students at the SPARK competition, which is a two-day competition that tasks students with solving real-world cases from Aqua America, The City of Philadelphia,
Strategic Distribution, Inc., US Army Corps of Engineers and Warren PSI, the university said.

The 24-hour experience provides students the opportunity to solve everyday situations, network with industry professionals and improve their presentation skills, according to the university.
The 2016 SPARK competition is the second year Villanova students has participated.
