On January 16th, Main Line Unitarian Church will show Voices Across the Divide, a powerful film on the Palestinian-Israeli Conflict.

Voices Across the Divide - Film and Discussion
Friday January 16, 7:00 p.m. at Main Line Unitarian Church:
816 South Valley Forge Road, Devon, PA 19333-1825
In Voices Across the Divide, Alice Rothchild, physician, activist, and author asks Palestinians in the US to share their memories of Israeli/Palestinian in 1948. Interviews are woven together with historical photos to create an intimate picture of one of the most complex conflicts of our time. This powerful oral history explores rarely-heard personal stories.
Narrated by Alice Rothchild, an American Jew raised on the tragedies of the Holocaust and the dream of a Jewish homeland, the film follows her personal journey, while exploring the Palestinian experience of loss, occupation, statelessness, and immigration to the US. This deeply personal narrative about the need for understanding and reconciliation between Jews and Palestinians is ideal for sharing with friends and family. Many find viewing this film to be a transformative experience.
Alice Rothchild has worked in health care reform and women’s movements for many years organizing annual health and human rights delegations to Israel and Palestine since 2003. Her first book, Broken Promises, Broken Dreams, is a soul-searching, painfully honest examination of ordinary Israelis and Palestinians bonded in a tragic embrace. Her latest book, On the Brink: Israel and Palestine on the Eve of the 2014 Gaza Invasion, is a compelling collection of blog articles that chronicle a fact-finding solidarity visit to the West Bank and Israel during the last three weeks of June 2014.
