Washer-Dryer Catch Fire On Christmas Eve In Wayne

Radnor and Berwyn fire company responders were called to a Wayne home on Christmas Eve afternoon when a washer-dry unit caught fire.

WAYNE, PA – Radnor and Berwyn fire company crews were called to a Wayne home on Christmas Eve for a pool house fire.

At about 12:05 p.m. on Monday, crews responded to the 900 block of Parkes Run Lane in Radnor's Wayne section for reports of a pool house on fire, according to the Radnor Fire Company.

Responders found smoke and flames coming from the back of a detached, two-story garage, the fire company said.

A stackable washer-dryer combination in a closet of a rear bathroom was the fire's source.

Firefighters removed the stackable unit from the bathroom and performed overhaul of the space to check for fire extension

No one was hurt in the fire.

Radnor fire officials said the scene was clear by 1 p.m.
