Wayne Christmas Tree Lighting Set For 7:30 p.m. Friday

WAYNE, PA – On the evening of Friday, Dec. 1, the Wayne Business Association is inviting the public to its Christmas Tree Lighting event that will feature carriage rides, face painting, caroling, and special shopping hours in Wayne.
The event technically kicks off at 5 p.m. as Wayne Business Association members stay open for special holiday shopping hours.
The tree lighting itself will take place at 7:30 p.m. at the Wayne Train Station, located at 145 N. Wayne Ave.

Check out the full schedule of the night's events below:
- 5:30 p.m.- 6:30 p.m.: Strolling carolers on North Wayne Avenue
- 5:30 p.m.- 7:15 p.m.: Face painting and ornament decorating at Radnor Fire House
- 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.: Horse-drawn carriage and trolley rides on South Wayne and Runnymede Avenues
- 7 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.: Valley Forge Military Academy Chorale and Radnor High School Cheerleaders at Wayne Train Station
- 7:30 p.m.: Christmas Tree Lighting at Wayne Train Station with 6 ABC Action News reporter Vernon Odom. Santa will arrive on a Radnor Fire Truck along North Wayne Avenue.
Beginning at 5 p.m., several roads will see closures or restrictions to accommodate the celebration.

Below is a list of roads affected by the event tonight, according to Radnor Township Police:
- North Wayne Avenue will be closed for northbound traffic at the municipal parking lot. It will be closed for southbound traffic at Poplar Avenue, with traffic being detoured onto Pennsylvania Avenue.
- West Avenue will be closed for eastbound traffic at Bellevue Avenue.
- South Wayne Avenue will be closed for northbound traffic at Pembroke Avenue. Access to residences will be available, but delays should be expected.
- The carriage route will restrict southbound traffic on South Wayne Avenue to one lane. Access to residences will be available, but delays should be expected. This will also restrict traffic on Runnymede Avenue, Lansdowne Avenue and Audobon Avenue.
