Wayne Elementary School Holding First "Running Bee" Nov. 12

The "Bee" will raise money for the school to enhance students' educational experience.

Get fit with family and friends and help enhance the educational experience at Wayne Elementary School at the inaugural WES "Running Bee" 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, Nov. 12

Runners and walkers can register online until Friday, Nov. 11 at 11:59 p.m. Fees are $20 for individual registration and $50 for family registration. Race day T-shirts are guaranteed to the first 200 registrants.

Runners and walkers can register the day of the race at 7:30 a.m. at the Wayne Elementary School, 651 W.Wayne Ave., Wayne. The 1-mile fun run begins at 8:30 a.m. and 5K run and walk starts at 9 a.m.

The race course goes through scenic a Wayne neighborhood and begins and ends at WES. After the race there will be a raffle for prizes from local businesses, and age-based and individual grade-level awards will be announced.

The race will be professionally timed by the Bryn Mawr Racing Co. and results will be available at BrynMawrRacing.com.

The goal of the Running Bee is to promote healthy lifestyles in the Wayne community and raise funds to support WES materials and programs, the Radnor Township School District said.
