The change is an effort to accommodate the way people shop today.

The Lancaster County Farmers Market will change its hours of operation starting May 1.
The change is an effort to accommodate the way people shop today, said Dave Delp, the market's manager.
On Wednesdays and Fridays the market will open at 8 a.m. and close at 6 p.m. Saturdays it will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The current hours are 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.

"We’re excited about it," Delp told Radnor Patch. Most of the stand holders are in favor of the change, he said. The change in hours will especially impact the stand holders and employees who live in Lancaster County and other far-off areas.
Stand holders have the option to open earlier if they choose. "We do appreciate our early long term regulars, so The Luncheonette will be serving Breakfast at 6 a.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays, and 7 a.m. on Saturdays," Andrew Kochel stated in the comment thread under this article.

Delp said the change means more convenient hours for shoppers.
"Buying habits have changed," he said. "The way we live has changed."
