Radnor Township Department of Public Works

REFUSE/RECYCLE/YARD WASTE SCHEDULE:

  • Monday – District 1 Refuse
  • Tuesday – District 2 Refuse
  • Wednesday – Yard Waste
  • Thursday - District 1 Recycling
  • Friday – District 2 Recycling

Leaf Collection is beginning on Monday, November 9 in District 1.

Over 500 residents are registered for the Radnor Township Electronics and Paper Shredding Event to be held on Saturday, November 7 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Residents are required to pre-register to attend this year’s event in order to comply with DEP Covid Regulations.

UTILITIES:

  • Miller Brothers continues PECO gas main work in the South Devon area & Beau Pre sections of the Township.
  • Miller Brothers is hoping to start Boxwood Rd in mid-November if possible.
  • Following is the Current Schedule for Miller Bros. Crews in Radnor. This is pending weather / unforeseen circumstances:

  • ULS crews are working for PECO in the following areas. ULS is expected to start on Lancaster Ave, working towards County Line Road once finished with the tie-in of the HDD pipe.
  • Darby Paoli Road is closed to traffic for PENDOT bridge work at the entrance to the Willows. The project is anticipated to last for the remaining of 2020.
  • Aqua will be installing 2,104 feet of Water Main and water services on Radnor Street Road starting at Eagle and working down to Walnut. They will proceed on Walnut to Woodland Ave. Work. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Residents will have access.

Recreational Programming Up and Running/Open for Registration:

Community Events:

  • The Great Pumpkin Pickleball Tournament was a HUGE success on Friday, October 23rd at Filipone Park (12 teams participated) – CLICK HERE for a picture recap of this great event!
  • Spooktacular Park & Trail Scavenge Hunt was a HUGE success on Sunday, October 25th at the Willows Park (Sold Out event with 72 families/280 participants) – CLICK HERE for a video and picture recap of this great event!
  • Santa’s Delivery Gift Drop Off will take place on Saturday, November 28th from 8:00 to 11:00 AM and the Delivery Date will be on Sunday, December 6th starting at 12:00 PM – registration is open and folks are excited!
  • Community Connections Holiday Gift-Giving Initiative – more details will be available soon!
  • Garrett Hill Tree Lighting – more details will be available soon!

Park & Recreation Facilities:

  • Current Status Amidst Covid-19 - All Parks & Trails and corresponding amenities are OPEN for usage including permitted usage in accordance with state and federal guidelines (water fountains remain closed) – new stake signage was developed and has been posted regarding safe practices for usage and mask wearing.
  • Radnor Activity Center is open with Department programming up and running along with several ongoing rentals. American Red Cross will hold a fall Blood Drive on Thursday, November 19 & Friday, November 20; We met with the Township’s HVAC company to discuss and plan for several options to improve the air circulation/quality within the facility.
  • Bo Connor Park & Clem Macrone Park basketball courts will be used by the Radnor Youth Basketball Program on Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM starting on Saturday 10/24 (on 10/31 they will be used later in the day due to the anticipated colder temperatures) – this is a permitted usage that restricts public usage at the courts during those days and times.

Radnor Township Department of Engineering

  • Assist as needed the Director of Recreation and Community Development on the Fenimore Woods Park project.
  • Prepare bid specs for Lancaster Avenue Sanitary sewer project.
  • Work with PW on the Radnor Street Tree Trench Project
  • Continue resident meetings on the Gulph Creek Flood Plain Creation Project
  • Respond to builders’ and developer’s inquiries
  • Perform Site Inspections
  • 2020 Superpave Project closing
  • Site visits to Meter Bridge Replacement Project, Earles Lake Dam
  • Review land development application plans
  • Continuing weekly meetings with consultants (Carroll, Gilmore, Gannett Fleming) on all infrastructure projects
  • Process grading permit, clearing, sidewalk, and U&O applications
  • Address concerns and accept applications at front desk.
  • Respond to and meet with residents on various concerns
  • Respond to bidder’s questions on the following projects:1. Arthur Lane Storm Sewer2. Wooton Lane Storm Sewer3. Cumberland Place Storm Sewer
