Spingler May Get Harsher Sentence For Fondling 103 Year Old: DA's Office
He was sentenced to two years probation and 60 months home monitoring for groping a 103-year-old woman in Wayne last year to much outrage.

RADNOR, PA – After William Spingler – the former Radnor Commissioner who was found guilty of fondling a 103-year-old woman at a Wayne nursing home recently – was sentenced to two years probation and 60 months home monitoring, the Delaware County District Attorney has given the OK to reconsider Spingler's punishment, opening up the possibility for a harsher sentence.
According to the DA's office, District Attorney Jack Whelan approved a motion for sentencing reconsideration for two reasons.
The DA's office said those reasons are that Spingler's supervision should be under the sex offender unit, rather than the general unit, and that the ruling should include no contact with the victim, who is Spingler's mother in law.

Prosecutors in the case were hoping for a three- to 23-month prison sentence, with a seven-year probation period to follow.
Spingler, 75, was found guilty of indecent assault in June this year and then sentenced to two years of probation and 60 months of home monitoring on Thursday, Oct. 12.

Many people online called for a harsher penalty for Spingler, who admitted to touching his 103-year-old mother in law's breast on two occasions in December 2016.
He was convicted on two of three counts of indecent assault on a person with a mental disability in a Delaware County court Thursday.
