Winter Art Classes at Wayne Art Center Enrolling Now

Before you get busy crossing names off your holiday gift giving list this season, take a moment and indulge in the Gift of Art for yourself! Adult classes & workshops for winter 2015 begin Monday, January 12th, and children’s classes begin Tuesday, January 20th. The winter series for both children & adults will run through March 28th.

For teens (16 & up) and adults, we offer a full program of fine arts, drawing & painting, ceramics, jewelry and culinary arts classes. Morning (9:30AM-12:30PM), afternoon (1-4PM), and evening (6:30-9:30PM) classes are available weekly, Monday – Friday. This winter will feature classes from returning favorites in drawing & painting: Karen Fogarty, Teresa Deseve, & Anne Graham; as well as ceramicists, Bob Deane & Bernadette Stillo, stained glass artist Mark Kidd, & metal artist, Chris Darway! Returning students try your hand at something NEW: For painters, Jon Redmond will offer Painting from Photos: Oils on Tuesday mornings, or join Arcenio Martin Campos on Wednesday mornings for Magical Realism: Still Life. For Ceramic artists, consider Pottery: Simply Celedon with Brett Thomas, or Pottery: Slabs to Fab with Karen Sacks. Not available on weekdays? Join us on Saturday mornings for Adult/Teen Drawing & Painting with Nathan Durnin or Adult/Teen General Ceramics with Matthew Courtney. For those looking to focus on expanding their skills in a high energy and focused atmosphere with a short time commitment, we also offer both 2 & 3 day weekend workshops, and 4-Friday workshops in a variety of art media throughout each session. Most workshops meet 10AM-4PM each day. All of our teachers are professional & award-winning artists, experts in their fields who truly enjoy sharing what they have learned in their years of experience with their students.

For children & teens ages 2-15, we offer a fun & creative curriculum of classes - from 2For Art on Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday mornings, and Mom & Me Music Circle on Thursday mornings, to Art POPS! And KinderArt & Clay, there are no shortage of options for our youngest artists. For kids in Kindergarten through Middle School , a full program of creative & fun classes is in store for this season, including: The Artists Studio, Pottery Club, Jewelry: Beads/Sculpey, Kids in the Kitchen, Creative Drama...and more! Classes are available Monday-Saturday, with both daytime & after school options available. Saturday afternoons are full of fun with a full schedule of programs and workshop opportunities for children, families & teens. Classes at the Wayne Art Center are a place where children of all ages are encouraged to expand their skills in a nurturing & supportive environment by teachers who are both professional educators as well as experts in their artistic fields.

The weather might be chilly, but things in The KITCHEN are just warming up! Our popular restaurant series, Tastes of the Town will return this season with guests from Chadd’s Ford Wines & Supper Restaurant in January. On December 11th, the men take over wih Men’s Night Out! Scotch Tasting & Cooking Demo with Chef Michael Dorris, formerly of The Mildred in Philadelphia. Whatever your tastes, there is certain to be something tempting on the Menu this Winter!
