Woman Killed In Delco DUI Crash, Felony Homicide Charges Filed

A woman died after she and her husband were struck by a man allegedly driving under the influence. He now faces felony homicide charges.

UPPER CHICHESTER, PA — An alleged DUI crash in Delaware County killed one person and led to felony homicide while driving under the influence charges for a local man, according to court documents and a news report.

David Strowhouer, 30, of Newtown Square, is facing numerous charges, including felony homicide by vehicle, homicide while DUI, felony accidents involving death, recklessly endangering another person, and many other crimes, in connection with the fatal crash.

Strowhouer was remanded to the George W. Hill Correctional Facility after a judge denied bail at his Feb. 17 preliminary arraignment.

He is slated to appear for a preliminary hearing on Feb. 26, court records show.

Strowhouer is accused of striking a couple in their vehicle at about 9:30 p.m. Saturday at Market Street and the CSX railroad tracks in Upper Chichester, the Delaware County Daily Times reports.

The outlet reports the deceased victim is Deana Eckman, 45, of Brookhaven. Her husband is in unknown condition at Crozer-Chester Medical Center.
