Woman Killed in Early-Morning Blue Route Crash

A woman was killed early Friday morning in a crash on the Blue Route.

Amelia Caglia, 22, was traveling north on I-476 in Plymouth Township around 2 a.m. Friday when she made a U-turn and began driving south in the northbound lanes, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported.

Caglia’s Toyota struck a Philadelphia Inquirer/Daily News delivery truck head-on, the Inquirer said.

Caglia was pronounced dead at the scene.

The delivery truck driver, Kenneth Wallen, was taken to Mercy Suburban Hospital with minor injuries, the Inquirer said.

I-476 northbound was closed for several hours Friday morning following the accident.
