Attempted Murder Charge Filed In Wayne Woman's Stabbing

A 40-year-old Broomall man is charged with attempted first-degree murder and more after Radnor Police said he stabbed a woman in Wayne.

RADNOR TOWNSHIP, PA — Attempted murder and related charges have been filed in connection with a weekend stabbing in Wayne, Radnor Police said.

Charles C. Hall, 40, of Broomall, has been charged with attempted first-degree murder, aggravated assault, burglary, and related charges, according to police and court documents.

Hall is a member of the Broomall Fire Company, but NBC10 reports he has been suspended until further notice and locked out of the fire station.

Radnor Police were called to a home on the 200 block of Willow Avenue in Wayne at about 1:53 a.m. Sunday for a report of a stabbing and found a woman suffering from multiple stab wounds, as well as a juvenile female suffering from injuries from trying to intervene in the stabbing.

The young woman gave a description of the suspect and told police it was Hall who attacked the adult woman, police said.

Not long after Radnor police took the report, Haverford Township Police found Hall while responding to a vehicle crash on Sproul Road.

Hall was identified and taken into custody without incident, police said.

The victims were taken to Paoli Memorial Hospital, where the adult female underwent surgery and is in stable condition. The young woman was treated and released, police said.

"We are grateful to [SIC] the support and assistance of Haverford Township and Marple Township Police Department for their swift actions of taking Mr. Hall into custody and minimizing the threat to our community," Radnor Police said. "Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of the victim during their recovery." Hall is being held on $500,000 cash bail and was taken to the Delaware County Prison.
