1st Manayunk Harvest Fest: What You Need To Know
Food trucks, live music, a beer garden, pumpkin carving, scarecrow making, and more will surely make the inaugural event a success.

MANAYUNK, PHILADELPHIA – A new seasonal celebration in Manayunk will make its debut this weekend, as the inaugural Manayunk Harvest Fest will take place Saturday, Oct. 14.
From 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Pretzel Park, Main Street, and Venice Island will all play host events that are part of the first ever Manayunk Harvest Fest.
While activities begin at 11 a.m., a 5k Fun Run will step off at 9 a.m. Registration costs $25 through Oct. 13 and $35 on race day. A portion of proceeds will got toward Pretzel Park improvement. Sign up for the run here.

The day will be full of live music, food and shopping vendors, kids activities, and more.
Activities include pumpkin carving, a scarecrow contest, peanut butter face painting, and more.

Food will be served up by Birdies Biscuits, Babalouie BBQ, Calle del Sabor, and more along Silverwood Street. SOMO host a beer tent inside the park, as well.
Professional pumpkin carving will take place at Canal View Park and Venice Island will be host to a corn maze as well.

- 12:15 p.m.: Hurricane Hoss
- 1:30 p.m.: Cliff Hillis
- 2:45 p.m.: RFA
- 4 p.m.: Ben Arnold
- 5:15 p.m.: Post War Dream
- 6:30 p.m.: No Good Sister
There will also be performances from Merge Dance Studio at noon and 1:25 p.m.
Stores and eateries in Manayunk will be open for shopping and dining with specials, as well.
In addition, Manayunk Development Corporation has partnered with Splash Lab Arts to create a community made mural during the festival at the corner of Cresson Street and Roxborough Avenue, according to the MDC. The theme of the mural is "I Heart MNYK" and all are welcome to paint their own section of the mural to represent why they love their neighborhood.
"We are delighted to be partnering with Friends of Pretzel Park and our merchants to produce this day-long event,” Jane Lipton, Executive Director of MDC, said. "There is always so much going on in Manayunk during the fall season. From StrEAT Food Festival all the way through Cocktail Week, there is something going on practically every week now."
