Arts And Sun Shine On Main Street

Manayunk Arts Festival is a huge success.

Near perfect weather topped off the two-day Manayunk Arts Festival and contributed to huge crowds visiting the more than 280 vendors who lined Main Street form Green Lane to Shurs with hardly a space between their booths. This was the 22nd year for the event with arts and crafts persons coming from 26 states to sell their wares.  While it was impossible to estimate the number of visitors, the crowd density stayed the same of most of the day, that is packed, but it was still quite manageable to navigate Main Street on foot for the length of the event area.

Many of Manayunk's retail establishments were open for business during the event as were most of the restaurants.  They did a brisk business all day long and many extended operations by setting up tables and chairs in the street.  There was a wide range of arts and crafts including pottery, paintings and drawings, photography, furniture, clothing, jewelry, ceramics, sculpture and more.  There was something for every taste and preference.  Our gallery gives a look at the event.
