According to Philly.com, Trump's spokesperson said that he was referencing bringing back Joe Paterno statue that was removed from Penn State's campus and "melted down."

However, the statue was never melted down, and rumors that it was were traced to an April Fools Day story, according to the report.
The statue was originally removed in 2012 amidst the Jerry Sandusky sexual abuse scandal, and allegations that Paterno didn't report Sandusky to the proper authorities.
Trump said on Twitter in 2012 that the Penn State football program should be shut down.
Pittsburgh is home to one of Penn State football's biggest rivals, the University of Pittsburgh.
Trump protesters and supporters clashed outside of the rally on Wednesday, according to ABC. About 8,000 people were on hand.
