The 120-year-old iconic church is in need of some help.

A Manayunk church has launched a campaign to raise funds to repair its aging exterior.
St. John The Baptist Church, which is 120 years old, announced their campaign on their website.
St. John is the tenth oldest parish in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, and contains over 4,100 members, according to statistics provided by the church.

Describing the building as an “anchor” in the community, Monsignor Kevin C. Lawrence, pastor of the church, said “I ask you to join us in preserving this treasured landmark for the next 185 years.”
Exterior repairs must begin immediately, the church says, to maintain the aesthetic and structural integrity of the building.
