James McAvoy Does Philly Accent On 'Saturday Night Live' [VIDEO]

The Scottish star of Philly-based films "Split" and "Glass" must have picked up a few accent tips while filming the movies locally.

PHILADELPHIA — It's no secret filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan loves his hometown of Philadelphia. He's set many of his movies in the area and has shot them in the city and nearby suburbs.

And James McAvoy, the Scottish actor who stars in Shyamalan's last two films "Split" and "Glass," must have really picked up on how residents in Philly and the suburbs talk, as he channeled a pretty good Philly accent in a "Saturday Night Live" sketch over the weekend.

McAvoy, who hosted the show with Philly's own Meek Mill serving as musical guest, took on the accent in a sketch where he played a Philly area guy doing focus testing for a Charmin commercial.

Not only did the Scot nearly nail the accent, he hit the dialectical quirks, too, throwing in a "yous guys."

Oh. And he was wearing an Eagles shirt (go Birds), despite their playoff run coming to an end on Jan. 13 after losing to the New Orleans Saints 14–20.

McAvoy's character takes the comedy into blue territory, as you can imagine would happen in a sketch about toilet paper.
