July 21-23: Old Academy Players presents the 7th annual Children's Arts Program!

A great way to introduce kids (ages 8-13) to the joys of theater with hands-on activities!

Old Academy Players presents the 7th annual Children’s Arts Program (CAP) for children ages 8-13.

CAP will runs on Tuesday, July 21 through Thursday, July 23, 2015 from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm with a special Thursday evening Showcase Performance at 6:30 pm.

OAP Members will introduce kids to the joys of theater with hands-on activities. Children will participate & experience classes in:

  • Theatre Arts,
  • Acting, &
  • Music including Voice & Dance/Movement!

Participants will:

  • Develop a short musical revue with scene work,
  • Memorize some lines along with songs & choreography, &
  • Help design & construct costumes & sets!

Participants will transform these three days of fun, discovery, & rehearsal into a “Showcase Performance” presented on Old Academy Players main stage for thrilled parents, family & friends.

Cost of the 3-day program is $100 per child. Family Discounts are available. Participants should bring their own lunches Tuesday & Wednesday. OAP will provide a Pizza Party on Thursday. Located at 3544 Indian Queen Lane in East Falls, Old Academy Players, in continuous performances since 1923, is a non-profit community theater in the East Falls section of Philadelphia, PA. The Old Academy building, constructed in 1819, has been the OAP home since 1932. Both Grace Kelly and Robert Prosky made their acting debuts on the OAP stage.
