Old 97s' Rhett Miller Appearing in Manayunk Tuesday

As the Manayunk record store said in its Facebook post, start thinking of excuses to get out of work for Tuesday.

Rhett Miller, lead singer of alt/country band the Old 97s, will appear at Tuesday at 2 p.m. for an acoustic set.

June 5 is a big day for Miller, as his appearance coincides with the release of his fifth solo album, The Dreamer. Fans of the lyricist and guitar player will have a chance to catch a free solo performance and buy his new album, on CD or vinyl.

Throughout the past decade, Miller has alternated in creating albums, solo and with the Old 97s. There will be plenty of Miller merch available for purchase.

Miller will later perform Tuesday with the full band (Rhett Miller & the Serial Lady Killers) at World Cafe Life, in an 8 p.m. show.
