Philadelphia Schools To Close Early On Friday Due To Near Record Heat
Near record high temperatures are forecasted on Friday, leading both public and private schools in Philadelphia to close early.

PHILADELPHIA, PA -- Public and private high schools and elementary schools within the city will close early on Friday due to the anticipated heat, according to announcements made Thursday.
Schools within the Philadelphia Public School District and the Archdiocese of Philadelphia announced that schools will close at noon.
The Archdiocese said that their high school and elementary schools in the suburban counties typically follow the decision of their corresponding local public school district, and will submit closure status independently.

Temperatures are expected to reach 92 degrees in the city with humidity over 60 percent. The temperature is expected to be close to the record high, according to Weather.com.
