Police Searching for Missing Former UPenn Athlete

Teaneck, New Jersey police are asking for the public's help locating a 20-year-old ex-UPenn athlete.

The Teaneck Police Department is searching for a 20-year-old former University of Pennsylvania athlete who was accused of a string of brick-throwing incidents earlier in 2014.

Timothy Hamlett, 20, of Teaneck, New Jersey, could possibly be in Washington Heights in Manhattan, between 170th and 182nd streets near Broadway, according to NJ.com. Hamlett was last seen wearing jeans, a blue or purple hooded zip-up Adidas jacket and sneakers, police said. He is 6-foot-tall and 150 pounds.

Hamlett was last seen at his home in Teaneck around 6 p.m. on Friday, according to police. His parents reported him missing on Sunday after he told them he would be seeing a friend in Teaneck, NJ.com reported.

Hamlett was charged in a series of brick-throwing incidents this summer by Teaneck police. The incidents caused thousands of dollars in property damages and left an 18-year-old woman with facial injuries, NJ.com said. Township police said Hamlett’s vandalism spree shattered windows in four homes and nine vehicles in May 2014.

Police do not believe the brick-throwing incidents are connected to Hamlett being reported missing. Police are urging anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact the Teaneck Police Department at (201) 837-2600.
