Salon L'Etoile Completes Makeover Right for Mother's Day
Manayunk salon and spa updates Main Street space.
has served Main Street for nearly 20 years. But that stability doesn't breed complacency, General Manager Meredith Hankins said.
"We always want to keep up with our image. We see ourselves as fashion forward and trend setters," she said.
The 4360 Main St. establishment recently underwent an interior makeover to better utilize their space, make the salon and spa treatment more comfortable for customers, and also improve the aesthetics.

Owners Michael O'Connor and Jerry Yellin repainted and added new wallpaper, replaced the flooring, updated the lighting—with a new chandelier installation—and spaced their property out accordingly.
The second floor is devoted to hair and nails, with the third floor focused on the spa aspects.

In addition, the entire property is now united. Previously, L'Etoile only occupied the second and third floors. But last summer, they expanded into the first floor to establish Beauty Boutique by L'Etoile, which carries beauty supplies.
Rolling with recent trends, L'Etoile embraced the social media explosion. On top of posting new hairstyles on Facebook and Twitter, Hankins said the bulletin board website Pinterst, where people share their hair, clothing, jewelry, and other beauty choices with friends, has particularly been helpful.
"It's perfect for us. It's our demographic—girls, 18 to 50—and you know it's worth it when all of us are on it, too," she said.
For Manayunk and Roxborough, hair stylists for men (she said they make up 40 percent of their cliental) and women aren't difficult to find. Hankins said L'Etoile separates itself from the rest by keeping ahead.
"We have a reputation to keep up. We're a long-time business that produces quality work. We're part of the community, and we strive for amazing customer service," she said.
Just in time for Mother's Day, L'Etoile offers several specials, including:
