Teen Wanted In Deadly Roxborough Shooting
Dayron Burney-Thorne, 16, is wanted in connection with the shooting that killed a 14-year-old boy and hurt four others in Roxborough.

ROXBOROUGH, PHILADELPHIA — A teenager is now sought in connection with last week's deadly shooting outside Roxborough High School.
Authorities said Dayron Burney-Thorne, 16, is wanted on murder and related charges.
Burney-Thorne, authorities said, is the person who shot and killed 14-year-old Nicholas Elizalde after a joint football scrimmage at the school the afternoon of Tuesday, Sept. 27.

Four other teens, ages 14 to 17, were hurt in the shooting that occurred at about 4:30 p.m. on the 4700 block of Pechin Street.
Authorities have obtained an arrest warrant for Burney-Thorne on charges of murder, multiple counts of attempted murder, firearm crimes, receiving stolen property, obstructing justice, tampering with evidence, and criminal conspiracy.

Burney-Thorne is 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 215 pounds.
He is considered armed and dangerous, police said.

The city if offering a $45,000 reward for information leading to his arrest and conviction.
"Last week's shooting of children outside of Roxborough High School has devastated not only the victims and their families, but our entire city," Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw said. "While I am pleased that a suspect has been identified, there is still much more work to be done. I want to thank the women and men of the Homicide Unit, who along with the ATF, continue to work tirelessly to bring the suspects to justice.
