5 Things to Know: Apple App Refund, World Bank Predicts Economic Growth

From this year's global economic outlook to an Apple app refund settlement,  here are five things you need to know for the coming week: 

1. American Hustle and Gravitydominated this year’s Oscar nominations, which were announced last week. See the full list of nominees and watch trailers for the films here.

2. A recently released Senate report  said the 2012 Benghazi attack, which killed ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans, was "likely preventable." The bipartisan investigation criticized the performance of everyone from diplomats to intelligence officials ahead of the deadly assault on the diplomatic compounds in Libya, saying more security and intelligence resources could have saved lives.

3. Apple has agreed to refund customers at least $32.5 million to settle a complaint that the iPhone maker billed people for apps that their kids bought without permission. The settlement also requires Apple to start getting parental authorization for all in-app spending.

4. The World Bank is predicting a return to economic growth in 2014, led by the U.S., after years of recession and a spotty recovery, according its latest global growth forecastreleased this week. Economists project growth increasing from last year's 2.4 percent to 3.2 percent this year, with the pace continuing through 2015.    

5. Bottoms up: The latest research might finally help to dispel the myth that coffee is dehydrating. A new study published in PLOS ONE reveals that it’s not, when consumed in amounts of up to four cups a day.
