The plan to lease Allentown's water and sewer systems to a private, for-profit organization which was first put forward by the mayor over six months ago appears to be gaining support among the city council members despite overwhelming public opposition. The plan is bad for Allentown and for all of the Lehigh Valley. Those of us in the surrounding communities should unite and voice our opposition to this ill-conceived solution to the cities budget woes.
