KidsPeace is proud to celebrate 18 residents who have completed the winter session of Community BikeWorks. A graduation ceremony is planned for 1 p.m. March 19 on our Orchard Hills Campus.
The children and teenagers have dedicated 20 hours of classroom time each week for the past few months, learning about bicycle safety and repair. As a graduation gift, they get to keep the bikes they worked on during the program.
Community BikeWorks was started in Allentown by Stefan Goslawski as an effort to provide children an alternative to hanging on the streets. Two years ago, Rob Scott, supervisor of recreational facilities for KidsPeace, formed a partnership where staff took a course and brought their knowledge back to the children on campus.

Goslawski, who is retiring as executive director this year, plans to attend the ceremony to honor the participants.
