Columbus Day: What's Open and Closed

Monday, Oct. 14 is the observance of Columbus Day. It is a federal and state holiday. In observance of the holiday, here is a listing of what is open and what is closed Monday.

• Salisbury Township municipal offices are open. (Regular trash schedule.)

• Schools: Salisbury School District schools, the Swain School and St. Thomas More School are all closed. 

• Banks: Many, but not all, are closed.

• Lehigh County Courthouse is open. 

• Lehigh County Government offices are open.

• The office of Magisterial District Judge Michael Pochron in Salisbury Township is open.

• Pennsylvania Department of Transportation driver's license and photo centers are closed. (Online services are available. www.dmv.state.pa.us)

• Pennsylvania Liquor stores are open.

• Federal offices are closed. 

• State offices are closed

• U.S. Post offices are closed, and there will be no regular U.S. Mail pick up or delivery. 

• Retail: Most retail and entertainment establishments are open.
