4-Alarm Fire Destroys Jiffy Lube on Lehigh Street

A four-alarm fire with flames shooting through the roof destroyed the Jiffy Lube on the Allentown/Salisbury line Monday, according to published reports. 

The blaze, which broke out around noon, had not been declared under control as of about 1:30 p.m., a Lehigh County emergency dispatcher told Patch.

LehighValleyLive was reporting that by 12:20 p.m., fire personnel were told to leave the car repair shop at 3111 Lehigh St. in Salisbury -- one of several operations the national car repair chain has in the area.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, althoughDeputy Chief Jason Faryniak, of the Western Salisbury Volunteer Fire Department, told LehighValleyLive that it appears that the blaze began in a ceiling-mounted heater.

There were no reports of injuries.
