Get Out: Five Things To Do This Weekend

From West Coast swing to bachata and blueberries, you won't be bored.

1. Luis Josel y su Swing Bachatero

Where/When: Levitt Pavilion at SteelStacks, 789 E. 1st St., Bethlehem, Sunday, July 17 at 7:30 p.m.

Why go: If you haven't seen or danced the sexy bachata, you haven't lived. Jose Luis Lemus from El Salvador, known as "El Papa de la Bachata," recorded an album in 2001 titled "Esa Mujer," that combined three musical genres: bachata, merengue and cumbia.

2. Karaoke Bowling

Where/When: The best of two worlds merge on Friday, July 15, at 9:30 p.m. at Hampton Lanes and the Hammerhead Lounge, 326 Main St., Northampton.

Why go: Karaoke AND bowling, people.

3. Dancing on the Thirds

Where/When: Take a West Coast swing dance lesson and stay to party, 7 p.m. on Friday, July 15, at the Third Street Alliance, 41 N. Third St., Easton.

Why go: A great excuse to buy saddle shoes.

4. Bethlehem Blueberry Festival

Where/When: The 26th annual Blueberry Festival at the Burnside Plantation, Saturday, July 16, and Sunday, July 17, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Burnside Plantation, 1461 Schoenersville Road, Bethlehem.

Why go: Blueberry everything – pastries, tea, jam – plus live music, games and guides dressed in Colonial clothing.

5. "Godspell"

Where/When: Watch “God save the people” at Muhlenberg College, Trexler Pavilion for Theatre and Dance, Baker Theatre, 2400 Chew St., Allentown, Wednesdays through Saturdays at 8 p.m., and Sundays at 2 p.m. through July 31.

Why go: See what composer Stephen Schwartz was up to before “Wicked.”
