Award-winningΒ independent filmmaker William Cusick, originally from Salisbury Township,Β isΒ producing his debut narrative feature film "Pop Meets the Void," a comedy that follows anΒ aspiring musician as he struggles to finish his first album after 15 years of toil.
The filmmakersΒ are currently trying toΒ raising $35,000 on the crowdfunding website Kickstarter to produce the film this winterΒ in New York City and in Cusickβs hometown.
"Pop Meets the Void," is inspired by the collapse of the music industry and the rebirth of theΒ musician industry in the age of the Internet. The soundtrack to the film is comprised of originalΒ songs by writer/director William Cusick.
Told through a series of parallel narratives that exploreΒ varying levels of success, the film touches on the complex nature of creating in obscurity for anΒ unknown audience and the paradoxes of failure. The film's narratives overlap, crisscross,Β intertwine and never end in this surrealist comedy.
