Kids' Safety Day At Lehigh Valley Hospital

From hand washing to fingerprinting, kids learn ways to be safe and stay healthy

More than 100 adults and children gathered to learn about how to prevent injuries and stay healthy Saturday during Kids' Safety Day at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest. The activities ranged from low tech to high tech solutions, from hand washing to palm scanning, from tours of a MedEvac helicopter to virtual tours of the new Children's ER.

Inside the Kasych Pavilion, participants could learn about a wide range of topics that included child passenger safety, how to avoid trauma and burn injuries, Β effective hand-washing and how to be a good babysitter. Salisbury Township police officers made copies of children's fingerprints, which their parents could keep for identification.
