Don't Put Your Shovel Away Yet: More Snow Coming

More snow is likely in the Southern Lehigh area on Tuesday, according to the latest weather forecasts. The storm could be poorly-timed, affecting the area during the morning rush hour.

More snow is likely in the Southern Lehigh areaΒ on Tuesday, according to the latest weather forecasts.

Although winter weatherΒ advisories have not yet been issued, the National Weather Service says there is a 70 percent chance of snowΒ Tuesday, with a total accumulation of 2 to 3 inches possible.

The Eastern PA Weather Authority said in a Facebook post Monday morning that heavy snow bands from the fast-moving clipper systemΒ could set up across the Lehigh Valley, with "very poor timing for schools and the AM rush."

The EPWAΒ cited the possibility of 2 to 4 inches of snow in a weather mapΒ posted on its website.

Over the weekend, aΒ majorΒ winter storm dumped more than half a foot of snow and sleet on much of the area, resulting in difficult travel conditions and event cancellations and postponements.

According to the NWS forecast, Tuesday's snow is likely to begin after midnight.

Tuesday's snowstorm would be the third to affect the area within a week's time.
