New Playground At Harry S. Truman School Is A Hit

Their motto is: "You helped build it, now come play."

Kids, parents and school staff came out to christen the new playground at in Salisbury Township on Sunday afternoon, with everyone giving it a definite "thumbs up."

"This is better even than recess," 7-year-old Ashton Linn said as he swung on the new tire swing. "Much better!"

The old playground equipment, installed in 1974, had deteriorated so badly that it was deemed unsafe and most of it had to be removed. A committee of parents, teachers and administrators raised nearly $15,000 last year for the new playground equipment. "If you build it, we will play" became the new motto for the project's supporters.
