Patch Picks: Top Fashions for Fall

This season proves every trend is cyclical.

1. Peplum. What the heck is that, right? Translation: ‘40s era inspired coats, jackets and skirts that exaggerate shoulders and hips, leaving an itty-bitty cinched waistline that’s every woman’s dream.

2. Fashion on fire: Flaming hues – oranges, reds and especially deep yellows – make for a bold statement as we move into fall, from outerwear to tuxedo pants.

3. Polka dots: This feminine standard is back with a vengeance. From an embellishment on a pair of gloves to a fully-dotted flouncy dress, polka dots can elevate your outfit from same-old to sensational.

4. The ‘70s: Many cringe at the thought of leisure suits, but the ‘70s did have some inspired signatures. Back this fall: maxi dresses that flow to the floor, oversized sweaters and wide-leg jeans will get you started.

5. Fur Sorry, PETA. It doesn’t have to be real! Fur-accented handbags, coats and shoes are a designer favorite, and it seems it’s here to stay.
