Suspended 'Duck Dynasty' Star Preached in Pennsylvania

It turns outΒ Pennsylvanians heard Phil Robertson's anti-gay remarks long before GQ and the rest of the world.
Robertson, the now-embattled father on A&E's "Duck Dynasty," wasΒ suspended by the networkafterΒ making anti-gay remarks to GQ MagazineΒ in a recent profile.
Members ofΒ Berean Bible Church in PottstownΒ are no strangers to Robertson's anti-gay remarks. Robertson preached at the independent church on East High Street back in 2010, back before "Duck Dynasty" was a hit.

The Philadelphia InquirerΒ reached out to Berean seeking comment, but no one responded, the paper said.
Robertson's comments and subsequent suspension set off a firestorm of debate.Β GLAADΒ and theΒ Human Rights Campaigncondemned Robertson's statements, whileΒ formerΒ Alaskan Gov. Sarah Palin TweetedΒ that "Free speech is endangered species; those "intolerants" hatin' & taking on Duck Dynasty patriarch for voicing personal opinion take on us all."
