Swain Students Create Book Jackets They Can Wear

Unique fashion show was a chance to discuss books they've read.

Second graders at The Swain School in Salisbury Township recently participated in a unique fashion show that combined the notion of book jackets as both protective utilitarian covers and fashion apparel.

Each student selected a work of fiction or non-fiction and literally created a "book jacket," an outer garment that represented that book. The students spoke about their books and described the features of their jackets, which they modeled before an appreciative crowd of students, faculty and family.
