When Does the Allentown Fair Start?

The Great Allentown Fair returns this weekΒ to the Allentown fairgrounds, bringing performers ranging from country music legends to the world's most successful ventriloquist.
Toby Keith, Jeff Dunham and John Mayer are all among the headliners at this year's fair, which kicks off Tuesday and runs until Labor Day.
Performers scheduled for the fair's grandstand shows include:
- Tuesdayβ Singer-songwriterΒ John Mayer, with 2012Β American Idol winner Phillip Phillips, Tuesday.
- Wednesdayβ Teen pop starsΒ Austin Mahone and Bridgit Mendler.
- Thursdayβ Grammy winning country actΒ The Zac Brown Band.
- Fridayβ Country music singerΒ Luke Bryan.
- Saturday βΒ Toby KeithΒ brings his Hammer Down Tour to the fair.
- Sunday βΒ Jeff DunhamΒ and his crew of puppets return to the fair.
- Mondayβ The fair closes with its traditional bang, courtesy ofΒ The J&J Demolition Derby.
But of course the fair is much more than just these headliners. On-going, weekly long events include the swimming pigs ofΒ Robinson's Pig Paddling Porkers, the Wolves of the World Show, and Animals That Built America.
Admission to the fair is FREE for everyone on Tuesday,Β as well from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
Otherwise, it's $6 at the gate, and free for kids under 12. Seniors can get a $4 discount after 2 p.m. on Wednesday. You can ride rides at the fair all day for a $15 wristband if you buy it in advance. Otherwise, it's $22.Β
Fair hours are:Β
- Tuesday, 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.
- Wednesday to Sunday, noon to 11 p.m.
- Monday, noon to 10 p.m.
