Keys to Awesomeness: Salisbury High School juniors Casey Creveling and Alan Mendez heard about a local video competition called 1gforgood.com that would give $1,000 to the cause of their choice if they won. They chose the Race for Adam Foundation, which would benefit awho has a rare genetic disease, Niemann-Pick Type C.
Creveling and Mendez, who have always been passionate music, co-wrote the song, "Tomorrow Afternoon," for the video, which they shot in school. The duo explained they wanted it be a positive, hopeful song for a serious cause (and joked there are too many songs with lyrics about "tonight"). Creveling played guitar on the song and shot the video. Mendez sang, played bass and drums. They have participated in charity events with their band, Identity Crisis. Creveling is involved in chorus, band, tennis and debate team. Mendez is involved in the band, Students Against Drunk Driving, debate team, and track.
