Woman Found Dead Had No Enemies, Family Says

The family of a young woman found dead in Lehigh County says she was excited about starting college.

The family of Kimberly Cardona - the 20-year-old Whitehall woman found dead in a wooded area of Salisbury Township last Thursday - says she was looking forward to starting classes at Lehigh Carbon Community College and that she didn't have any enemies, according to a Morning Call report.

On the afternoon of July 4, Cardona's family began expressing concern and asking where she was.

"We just really need to know if she is ok. She doesn't have to come home, all she needs to do is call her brother or me and let us know she's alright" was one of the posts pleading for information.

Cardona is being remembered as lovable and close to her family. She lived with her mother and siblings.

Cardona's family told the Morning Call that she didn't have a boyfriend, and that some of her past relationships had ended badly. A friend said Cardona was out with a guy Tuesday and he was going to take her to a restaurant, but the friend didn't know who the man was and never heard from Cardona again.

Many of the Lehigh Valley's were killed by men they knew.

  • Police found theΒ Β of Trisha Sadler, 29, following a six-hour standoff with her boyfriend at their Bethlehem bungalow. Sadler sometimes had bruises and told a co-worker that her boyfriend said he was going to kill her, according to the arrest affidavit. Now charged with homicide, Willie J. Ward has a violent criminal history including an assault conviction stemming from a previous case of domestic violence.
  • Prosecutors in theΒ said he was angry when he found out his girlfriend, Jennifer Snyder, was pregnant. Rapoport is accused of shooting Snyder and her unborn child to death in Lehigh County. Snyder was 27.
  • Police say aΒ Β as their two sons watched in their Bethlehem home. Luis Alberto Montero then tried to kill himself but did not succeed. Montero told police he was angry because he thought the victim, Margie Reyes, 38, was cheating on him. last month.
