Tom Muller Wins Lehigh County Executive Race

Democrat Tom Muller won the race for Lehigh County executive Tuesday, capturing 52 percent of the vote over Republican Scott Ott, according to unofficial tallies.

Muller, 69, of Lower Macungie, had 23,543 votes, according to unofficial tallies. Ott, 52, also of Lower Macungie, had 22,012 votes, or 48 percent of the vote.

PoliticsPA had dubbed the Lehigh County Executive Race as one of the "13 Most Interesting" political races in Pennsylvania this year.

The race pitted Ott, a Lehigh County commissioner, against Muller, the county's director of administration.

Ott was making his second attempt for the county's top job, which narrowly eluded him in 2009. He is co-host of a current events talk show for PJTV, a conservative online network. 

Muller held senior positions at large companies in the Lehigh Valley before moving into the public sector. He has been the county's director of administration for seven years.
