Mangos Coastal Cuisine in South Whitehall is a full service restaurant with a casual spirit.
On the surface, 's name and colorful image of three mangoes may connote more of an island theme, but a review of the lunch and dinner menus reveals a generous selection of Mexican dishes. A variety of seafood also makes a notable appearance.
Appetizers include nachos, quesadilla, pulled pork empanadas, spicy beef taquitos and fried tomatillos. Seafood options are calamari, mussels, seared ahi tuna and guava glazed shrimp skewers, the latter two served with piquant mango salad.
Sandwiches, burgers and tacos are prominent at lunchtime, with many of the choices around $7.29 to $8.99. Sandwiches are Cubans (classic pressed style) and flat breads. The traditional Cuban is prepared with ham, pork, Swiss cheese, pickles and mustard. Mangos offers pork and chicken Cuban sandwiches as well.

Other than the grilled angus beef burger, the additional burger varieties feature Mexican flavors such as pico de gallo, jalapenos, ranchero sauce and the like. The seafood version is a mahi mahi burger served with avocado and spicy mayo. Mangos' tacos are made with flour tortillas, choice of seasoned beef, chicken, pulled pork or shrimp, and served with rice and beans.
The salad bar at Mangos is available for both lunch and dinner. Substantial entrée salads -- Southwestern cob, tortilla bowl, taco salad and a Caesar -- range from about $9.79 to $11.99, with the option to add chicken, shrimp and other proteins for an additional charge.

At dinnertime, the menu includes meats, seafood, pasta dishes and house specialties. A few representatives are sirloin served with frizzled onions, mango grilled chicken, caramelized pineapple tilapia and tequila lime chicken enchiladas. Most entrée prices range from $11.99 to $17.99; filet mignon, ahi tuna and paella valencia (with mussels, clams, scallops, lobster and chorizo chicken) are $21.99 to $23.79.
Because of its proximity to major routes (222, 309 and 78) and space to accommodate private parties, Mangos is often chosen as a site for business luncheons or social functions. Full bar service is available, and the patio is now open.
