Driver Slightly Hurt When Flying Ice Strikes Windshield
Ice dislodged from tractor trailer on Route 22

A 31-year-old Schnecksville man was slightly injured Thursday when a large piece of ice fell off a tractor trailer on Route 22, smashing his SUV's windshield, state police at Bethlehem said.
Andras Bartos was traveling east in the left lane of Route 22 at 9:45 p.m. when the ice struck his vehicle near the 15th Street interchange in South Whitehall. He was treated for cuts at the scene by Cetronia emergency medical services.
The ice fell off a tractor trailer that was traveling west on Route 22 in the left lane. The driver of the tractor trailer is not known, state police said.

A state law calls for fines of $200 to $1,000 if snow or ice becomes dislodged from a moving vehicle and causes death or serious bodily injury. A has introduced legislation that would punish motorists who do not clean off their vehicles.
