Asbury's 2102 Chili Cookoff will benefit Athletes for Christ, a Lehigh Valley non-denominational outreach focused on reaching people for Christ through sports and physical activities. (www.athletesforchrist.net) Admission is free, but attendees will be asked to make a freewill donation to this group.
The event will feature over 30 amateur and professional chefs, vying for a People's Choice award (1st, 2nd & 3rd pro and amateur) as well as one of several Golden Chili awards (10 categories including Most Potentially Percussive!). Attendees will vote by donating to their favorite chili.
New this year is the award for attendees who sample all the chilis called, "I Climbed the Chili Mountain". 30 two-ounce samples is a 1/2 gallon of chili! There will also be a door prize drawing for all attendees.
